Basic Skills/Beginner Synchronized Skating Program
The U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program has expand the opportunities for beginning skaters to compete synchronized skating events in non qualifying competitions.
New beginner teams should register with U.S. Figure Skating by filling out a Team Registration Forms. Teams do not need to designate which beginner level they are in (1, 2 or 3). More information is available -

Requirements ffor skating at different levels
Teams become more competitive as individual skaters pass more MITF, dance, and free skating tests that provide the skills to consistently perform at consistently high performance and presentation levels through out a synchronized skating program.
*Teams competing in international competitions must follow the ISU rules. ISU rules require teams to be comprised of 16 skaters, with not more than 4 alternatives.
