Synchronized Skating Competitive LevelsThe USFSA requires Synchronized Skating Teams to consist of individual skaters who have passed the minimum required MITF test.
Synchronized Skating Teams have been gradually recruiting individual skaters who have acquired more advanced MITF, dance, and free skating skills. Skaters on senior teams now have at least two gold medals (MITF, Free Skating, or Compulsory Dancing). These skills have allowed coaches and choreo- graphers to push the technical boundaries allowing them to consistently deliver elite performance and presentation levels representative of a high energy, well balanced and professional choreographed short and long program.
*Teams competing in international competitions must follow the ISU rules. ISU
rules require teams to be comprised of 16 skaters, with not more than 4 alternatives.
Individual Workshops Basic skating elements target Individual Synchronized Skater skill development.
The Figure, Dance, Synchro, General and Free Skating Workshops are designed to be taken concurrently.
