Code for Hockey Skaters
Hockey Skaters are expected to help create a safe and positive sporting environment for everyone by adhering to the following Code of conduct: All visiting players must: ➢ Treat
the ice skating facilities, its employees and all other visitors with
care and respect. The
use of abusive, threatening, dangerous, criminal or violent behavior and foul or abusive language is not permitted anywhere in the building or grounds All home rink/club players must: ➢ Always
remember you owe a duty of care to everyone around you not engage in
any reckless, dangerous or distracting activity, including engaging in personal conversations, during a session. ➢ Demonstrate good sportmanship! Be courteous to other skaters, coaches, judges, parents, rink employees and visitors at all times. Do not complain or argue with decisions during or after practice or competition. Expect the same in return. Profanity and disrespectful behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. ➢ Not attempt to gain competitive advantage through improper gamesmanship techniques. This type of behavior will not be tolerated. ‘Win with humility – lose with dignity’! ➢ Play for enjoyment, and remember that fun, improving your skills and feeling good are the aims to achieve through your skating. ➢ Get up rapidly after falling and should not lie on the ice unless they are seriously injured. Pretending to be injured is unacceptable behavior. ➢ Promote the well being of fellow skaters, you must provide positive encouragement and bring to attention any unhealthy or dangerous conduct to coaches or parents. ➢ Treat skating facilities and league equipment with respect as not to damage or vandalize property. Payment for any such damage or vandalism will be sought from the individual or club and the perpetrator banned for the premises. ➢ Never appear at the rink or participate in any activities hosted at the rink under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Non-compliance
will result in formal action being taken against the offender.
Continued non-compliance will result in being barred from the facility.
