An Overview

For the purpose of this discussion will deal with the concept of a multi-sport complex known as the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc.

The Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. will be a multi-sport complex that provides its users with various services such as a first class fitness and lifestyle center, a massage therapy clinic, with rehab/physical therapy trainers. 1 - 3 full-size basketball courts that can also accommodate many other sports, a food and beverage/lounge area, plus other amenities including offices, a conference room, banquet facilities. A childcare center and full-service locker rooms will all be available to serve the needs of all facility customers. Along with the amenities above, the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. will provide its users with qualified and knowledgeable instructors/coaches to make sure all of their sport and fitness needs are met.

Depending on the demand in some communities, various parts of the facility will be operate on a 24 hour, 7 day a week schedule.

All public and private areas of the complex will be assessable with ramps and elevators to meet the Americans for Disabled Persons Act regulations.

The involvement of volunteers is an important part of offering vital services such as tutoring students in a staffed learning/resource computer lab, tutors and mentors for individuals and parents in multiple sports, developing and administrative planning to host in-house recreational competitive events, shows, and related activities such as workshops, camps, carnivals, and social events for all ages.

- Amenities -
Weight Lifting and Fitness Equipment
The Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. will house a large fitness and lifestyle center that will match or exceed any facility in the marketing region. This fitness and lifestyle center will include top-of-the-line equipment in free weights, machine weights, and aerobic machines. The majority of the lifestyle center will be located on the upper level of the complex that will surround the three basketball courts. This will allow the users the option of watching the activities going on down below, or to watch one of the many TVs that will be set up for their enjoyment.

This aspect of the facility will be run by a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) who will hire and train his/her staff to meet the demands of the members. This person will report to and work directly with the general partners of the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. and his/her duties will include, but will not be limited to, general supervision, personalized training for members, program development for camps and clinics, and aiding in the marketing and promotional aspects of the facility.

Sports Activities
The Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. would be a true community based complex serving a broad based spectrum of sports, recreation, and fitness needs. Indoor full-size basketball courts can be found in most high school gyms and outdoor courts in parks. Including basketball courts should not be a high priority in the complex's plans. The first amenity would be an full size Olympic ice rink with a multipurpose floor and permanent spectator seating to allow competitive events for volleyball, badminton, indoor soccer, indoor field hockey, gymnastics, dance, aerobics, etc. A secondary construction phase of facilities would allow year round participation in these sports, with limited spectator seating,  to provide a diversified recreational opportunity for a board based community support for all ages. Depending on the availability of a indoor swimming and diving facility, such an amenity could be incorporated into the plan.

Contacting time to sports organizations and schools will be a high priority.  The development of sports leagues, camps, and clinics, along with other various day-to-day operations of the facility will be the responsibility of the management team.

It is extremely important to the long term viability of the project to develop an organization of affordable group classes to stimulate interest in each sport offered at the complex. The quality of the instruction must provide the participants with basic skills to participate and have fun with the ultimate goal of becoming involved in activities host by the complex and moving up to a competitive track that allows competing against other athletes outside the confines of the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc.

Full Service Locker Rooms
Full-service locker rooms for both men and women that will accommodate up to 120 lockers for the general use. Large shower areas, benches, sinks, and bathroom facilities will all be included adjacent to the lockers.  Dedicated "wet" locker rooms for the sports arena and practice ice rink and possible swimming facilities will also be included in the plans.

Towel service will be available for a nominal charge.

Additional rest room facilities will be strategically located for visitors, spectators, and public skaters. Separate staff rest rooms and a lounge will be provided.

Theater Style Auditorium
A theater style auditorium style padded seating 500 with a stage and area for props will be located on the main floor of the facility with an independent exterior entrance and interior access to meeting rooms for conferences. The food service facilities would be able to provide food for such activities.

Administrative and Community Facilities
There will be on site administrative offices, meeting and conference rooms, and banquet facilities.

Hotel and Conference Facilities
Ideally there will be on site or adjacent hotels and possibly a convention center that will attract small trade shows, conventions, and conferences that could be more economically handled by the facilities of the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc.

- Services -
Food Services
On the lower level surrounding the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. practice courts there will be a food and beverage area where users of the facility and spectators can consume non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, or full meals.

On an upper level there would be a viewing area providing a climate controlled bird's-eye view of the happenings on the practice courts and ice rink. This level would provide a separate full service food that  would allow adults to enjoy beer and wine. Some sites may justify a license for high alcohol content sprits.

Included in all food service areas will be various big screen TVs that will show either sporting events, sports news, or appropriate programs that users wish to watch. This aspect of the facility will be crucial in providing the desired atmosphere designed to create a family atmosphere.

A qualified food service manager will be hired to run this aspect of the facility. He/she will have the responsibility to meet necessary standards and to report to, and work directly with the general partners or board of directors of the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. to make sure the needs of the users in this area are met. If additional staff are required, this person will hire and train those people in accordance with the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. policies.

The food service department would be available to host banquets and conferences for members and non-members.

Massage Therapy
An area for a massage therapy clinic will be located on the main floor of the facility. This service will be available to both the general public and users of the facility at a cost reflective of the industry standard. This amenity will be an added bonus to the users of the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. as it will be conveniently located right inside the complex.

The Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. may decide to hire a staff of massage therapists or to lease out the space to an already established massage therapy practice.

A large childcare area that will allow users to access the facility at their convenience. The childcare will be on the first level of the complex and have a large play area that will be continuously monitored by our childcare staff. The staff will be responsible for the care and well-being of the children they are watching, along with providing a fun and interesting environment for the children. This service will be offered to the facility users for a very minimal fee. The facility will also be open to the non-member general pubic if space is available.

Sports Shop
A sports shop will be strategically placed in the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, Inc. will be available to the non-member general public and provide discounts to members. Users of the facility will have will have assess to the sports shop from the exterior of the facility. The sports shop will sell sports equipment and apparel for all activities at the facility and additional sports as dictated by market demand.

There is a  possibility of developing our own brand of products that would be initially exclusively available at the Ultimate Recreation and Fitness Center, but could become a separate income source through non-competing stores and the facilities own web storefront. The sports shop will have a management vice-president who will be direct promoting and developing a marketing plan, computerize the inventory stocked, and train a staff to operate the facility for daily sales and service.
